At 1:04 PM, my son will be 6 weeks old. That’s absurd. I feel like I brought him home from the hospital yesterday. In the past 6 weeks, the lessons I have learned seem like a handful of sand taken from the ocean of lessons that await me. Here are some of those life-altering lessons:

  • When you breastfeed, your body is still not yours.
    • During pregnancy, you give up the bad things that might harm the life growing inside of you. Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol; all the addictive substances that basically make being an adult with responsibilities tolerable go out the window along with late nights, seafood, feeling sexy and normal emotion ranges. When you breastfeed, it seems like an extension of pregnancy in the way of what goes into your body goes into your baby. Too much caffeine keeps Jax up, I have to monitor how long it’s been since…
