Imagist poem

Grocery Ghosts

By: Michael Melville

Walking the aisles of boxes, bags and cans

Sales of buy one get one free in my hand

Blue cart filled with uninteresting things of necessity

No more meals are truly planned

No eye contact with other people around

No random conversations and nothing profound

Just a quite walk and silent thought of things that I used to do

When one plus one still equaled two
